Project Description

Our client Virgin Bet had a bumper month of sponsorships in February, continuing their prolific support for horseracing right across the UK. So they certainly kept us busy producing and installing the signage for them across a variety of venues.

Here is an overview of the main events we covered, so you can get a taste of the work – and miles! – our incredible crews do every month.

Exeter Racecourse

Virgin Bet sponsored at all three of the February fixtures at Exeter Racecourse, including the Virgin Bet Super Sunday, so we had plenty of trips to the lovely Devon track last month! Another client – Pertemps Network – also had a race at Exeter on Super Sunday so we worked with both the clients and the venue to ensure both sponsors had excellent brand visibility and plenty of eye-catching signage up for the race day.

Sandown Park Racecourse

Next up was the sponsor signage we installed for the Virgin Bet Contenders’ Day at Sandown Park Racecourse. A key trials meeting for the prestigious Cheltenham Festival in March, it was a day of top class racing broadcast on ITV Racing so needed a large branding fix to make the most of the television coverage. Our team of installers put in a large branded finish build covering both Sandown’s Chase and Hurdle winning lines, plenty of course boards and lots of banners, flags and panels around the parade ring and presentation area, as well as supplying branded winners rugs and number cloths for the horses.

Warwick Racecourse

The weekend after Sandown, we travelled to Warwick Racecourse to install the signage for another big televised race day, the Virgin Bet Kingmaker Chase Day. Again to make most of the TV cameras, the RTA Publicity crews installed lots of signage on the winning line and around the racecourse and jumps, as well as smaller boards, lollipops and railing wraps in the parade ring and horsewalk areas.

Ayr Racecourse

By the end of the month, the Virgin Bet had nearly travelled the length of the country; from Exeter all the way up to Ayr Racecourse, where we installed signage for the Virgin Bet Raceday, on the 27th February. This meeting was precursor to their next raceday on the 11th March when we were also back at the Scottish track with more signage for Virgin Bet!

Doncaster Racecourse

The one remaining track we visited in February for Virgin Bet was Doncaster Racecourse, where our cliesponsored two mid-week race days on the 9th and the 22nd. But the biggest event squeezed in at the start of March rather than February, where Virgin Bet sponsored the two-day Virgin Bet Grimthorpe Chase meeting. One of the final big racing weekend’s prior to the Cheltenham Festival, the Grimthorpe is a really popular meeting with some great racing action, races televised on ITV and a big crowd of race goers. So a big branding fix was required, including the usual large course branding, a banner for the big screen and a large track mat, lollipops, flags and rail wraps for the parade ring and winners enclosure, plus sets of winners rugs and number cloths for the horses.

These are only a few of the events we cover each year for Virgin Bet, however this is a prime example of how versatile venue branding can be, bringing the focus on the key event sponsors in a visually-pleasing display for race goers and television audiences alike!
