About RTA Publicity

RTA Publicity was established in 1982 by our MD Lynn Wall and has grown to be recognised as one of the UK’s leading suppliers of sponsorship signage, venue branding and perimeter advertising.

From her background at Ladbrokes & Aintree Racecourse, Lynn spotted a gap in the market for selling advertising hoardings at racecourses, which got nationwide coverage at televised race meetings – hence Racecourse Televised Advertising – RTA – was born.

We now work across all the major horseracing festivals, for venues, sponsors, caterers and hospitality providing a range of branding solutions across all the sectors to enhance brand visibility, amplify sponsorship activity and support operations.

Although the majority of our work is within horseracing, over the years we’ve worked at a wide range of other events nationwide, such as Euro ’96, the Stella Artois Tennis Championships at the Queen’s Club, the World Darts Championships, Chelsea Flower Show, Henley, the Greyhound Derby and the Red Bull Air Race, as well as all sorts of hospitality, awards and corporate events.

With bases in Uxbridge and Liverpool, we offer a nationwide delivery and installation service.

The Uxbridge office is Steve, Simon, Gill, Helen, Jenny, Jennie & Scott, plus Lynn and Dave when they pop in.

Tricia runs the Liverpool office, with Alan and Graham. The Liverpool team joined us in 2018. The Liverpool team have a lovely new shiny warehouse to work from. The Uxbridge team are very jealous!

We (except Tricia) are coffee snobs. Sorry, not sorry!

Steve ParlettCEO

Steve worked in sales for five years before embarking on a career working in the horse racing industry. For over 17 years he worked in various sales roles across Epsom Downs, Sandown Park and Kempton Park and by 2011 he had worked his way up to Sales Director at Kempton Park. He then moved into racecourse management with 4 ½ years at Wincanton as General Manager before returning to Kempton in the same role in 2015 for a further 5 ½ years.

Steve left Kempton in late 2020 and then spent time in Saudi Arabia, consulting to help deliver the richest race in the world, the $20m Saudi Cup. He then had a short stint as General Manager at Royal Windsor racecourse before taking up the role as CEO at RTA.

Jennie PrestAccount Manager

Jennie has been with RTA since 2016 and looks after our projects with Goodwood and Epsom (including the Derby) as well as the other London Jockey Club courses Sandown and Kempton, amongst others. She joined with plenty of racing contacts from her previous role as Racing Sponsorship Manager at William Hill, and is a horseracing fan which sometimes helps with the finer details of the job! She particularly enjoys being part of the big racing festivals and seeing all the hard work come together on site at an event. Outside of work, Jennie has an 18-year-old ex-racehorse (who takes up a lot of time and money!) is a keen baker and escape room enthusiast, travelling around the country to try different rooms.

Tricia FitzpatrickGeneral Manager Liverpool

Tricia joined the company in 2018. She has been in the industry since 1995 after studying History and IT at Lancaster University. She has a great rapport with clients, adds a personal touch and ensures each job is perfect. Tricia has the vision to understand the clients needs to ensure they reach maximum exposure at their event. Her clients range from racecourse managers, sponsors, breweries and rugby stadiums.

In her spare time Tricia enjoys baking, DIY and gardening. Her amazing garden puts Alan Titchmarsh to shame!

Simon WallAccount Manager

Simon started at RTA back in 2001 and has been managing several key accounts and events such as Ascot Racecourse, Royal Ascot, QIPCO British Champions Series & Ladbrokes, amongst many others. As well as managing accounts Simon project manages some events to site, enjoying the whole process from creation to completion.
When not working Simon loves running, hiking and food. He is proud to have completed 10 marathons to date with another two in the pipeline!

Gill BarrettAccount Manager

Gill took on the role of part-time bookkeeper at RTA around 30 years ago. This gradually morphed into looking after clients & events, such as 6 Nations Rugby & Tennis at Queen’s Club. More recently Gill has closely worked with sponsors and racecourses, such as Cheltenham, Aintree & Epsom. She really enjoys the camaraderie of working with a team on site for a big event & the buzz of seeing a job well done. When not working, Gill loves coastal walks, swimming, cryptic crosswords, cooking, eating and getting her hands dirty down on the allotment!

Helen PennyFinance Manager

Helen joined the company back in 1996 when RTA won the signage contract for the Euro 96 football championships and an extra pair of hands were needed. The business has certainly grown since then! Helen has the exciting challenge of making sure our finances are in as good a shape as can be, whilst supporting the rest of the team when needed. In her free time Helen enjoys nothing more than a long walk somewhere in the Chilterns followed by a good meal with a glass or two of wine. The simple pleasures….

Jenny LaverStudio Design Manager

Jenny has been with RTA Publicity since 2011 and has been involved in nearly all aspects of life at RTA within the office and out on site and from Account Manager to Designer. She is very creative and enjoys working with clients to ensure their branding is eye catching and stands out. Jenny studied Media Production at University and previously worked for ITV and Ladbrokes. Outside of work illustration, photography and travel are Jenny’s big passions. She is a big fan of Christmas and tries her best to get everyone at RTA in the festive spirit, sometimes as early as August!

Scott WalshEvent Team

Scott came on board with RTA as a sub-contractor in 2014 and then became a permanent member of the team in 2016. We have thought long and hard about Scott’s job title but he covers so many different roles we can’t settle on just one!
Scott can turn his hand to anything and looks after client stock, storage areas, maintenance and works on site for our events. He previously worked in building and maintenance for KCL construction and was a Team Leader for the refuse and recycling company SITA. In his spare time Scott enjoys fishing, attending the races as a spectator and watching football. He grew up in Shepherds Bush and is a proud QPR supporter.

Alan HoldenSenior Event Team Leader

Alan oversees jobs on whilst on site at the majority of our main events, he also conducts site surveys and carries out risk assessments to ensure our jobs goes as smoothly as possible. He enjoys being on site and watching the event once the installation is complete, especially in summer – making sure he can get a sun tan! On his days off he enjoys family time in his garden and watching football. Alan is an avid LFC fan.

Graham McMillanEvent Team

Graham assists Alan on the majority of our events and is also responsible for stock control and management in the Liverpool warehouse. Graham particularly enjoys visiting the Scottish courses, especially Hamilton as this is where he was born. We all enjoy his gifts on his return particular the square sausage! Graham enjoys watching football in his spare time and socialising with friends.

Marwah GhaziAccount Executive

Marwah started working with RTA in 2021. She looks after the Liverpool office with Tricia and supports the Account Managers. She deals with many different local projects and events. Organises certain finances & stock list checks, certainly loves to utilise an excel spreadsheet by nature as she had previously graduated and worked in Accounting & Finance. Outside of work, Marwah loves nature, travel and exploring different countries and cuisines. Not camera shy and loves a good selfie!
