Project Description

This weekend is the Sandown Park Tingle Creek Festival, traditionally where racing really starts to get in to the Christmas spirit.

The RTA Publicity teams were on hand to install plenty of signage onsite, for both the racecourse and for Friday’s sponsors Pertemps Jobs and Ballymore. With the racing action on ITV and Racing TV on Friday and Saturday, you’ll see plenty of our signage in the background!

The Tingle Creek Festival and the history of Sandown Park Racecourse

The Tingle Creek Festival is one of the biggest meetings of the National Hunt season. This 2-day meeting is highlighted by the Grade One Tingle Creek Chase, famously one of the best races of the year.

In 2021, we are finally welcoming back the Betfair Tingle Creek Chase, the perfect occasion for friends and family to get in the Christmas spirit together and enjoy top quality jump racing action.

The festival features the famous Tingle Creek Chase, testing speed and jumping for the best two mile chasers around. This Grade 1 feature race is one of the biggest staged at Sandown Park and attracts the best horses and jockeys from afar.

First run in 1979, the Tingle Creek Chase has seen several outstanding champions over the years, including 3-time winner Flagship Uberalles and Kauto Star. Last year’s winner was Politologue, ridden by Harry Skelton and trained by Paul Nicholls.

Today’s action features two Grade 1 showdowns, with the Henry VIII Novices’ Chase likely to feature the stars of the futures.
